Our thoughts on the ups and downs of life
I’ve been slacking off on the blog lately but I’m just about ready to get back in gear. Meanwhile, enjoy some pictures!

I am SO excited to get the pictures back from the family photo session we had on Saturday morning! This was the best portrait experience we’ve ever had by far! The photographer is a teacher and just does her photo business on the side. She met us on campus and took a lot of pictures in various poses in several different places for about 90 minutes. I think she would have gone longer but the kids were pretty much over it by then. We did many family shots as well as the kids together and alone and some with Jason and the kids and then me and the kids. She also did some candid shots. The kids loved her and she was very easy to work with. It was such a different experience than the Sears Studio that we’ve visited in the past. I’m actually really, really excited to get our pictures back! The best part is that she charges a flat sitting fee of $100 and then just sends us a CD with the pictures for us to print on our own! AMAZING! We should have the CD within a couple of weeks!
We’ve been in this house for about a year and a half now and last summer we got most of the rooms painted and decorated. This was something I wanted to accomplish before Cameron was born. We have a lot of family pictures hanging on the walls and I love this because I always enjoy seeing pictures when I go to other peoples houses. Makes it feel more lived in or something. Anyway, last summer I carefully selected several picture frames and printed photos that captured the special moments for our young family. I was looking at a framed collage this morning that included pictures of me and Jason in the Smoky Mountains, Jason and Lily at Disney World, me and Lily at King’s Island, Lily at Cedar Point, Lily with a flower on her head, Lily as a newborn, Lily wearing a hat…notice a theme here? When I put these frames together our family was me (pregnant with Cameron), Jason and Lily. I feel so bad that I haven’t had (or taken) the time to put any pictures of Cameron in these frames! Such is the life of the second child, I guess. We have one family picture that was taken when Cam was three months old. I have it in a frame leaning against the wall where it needs to be hung. Seriously, a stranger in our house might not realize that we actually do have a son who is nearly 9 MONTHS OLD! I really need to make this a priority and just get it done. At least he’s too young to have a complex about it yet.
Speaking of Mr. Cameron…it would be hard not to notice him lately with all that he has been accomplishing! He was VERY vocal during our vacation and has kept up the babble since we’ve been home. There are times when he talks more than Lily and, well, that’s just scary. His new favorite sounds are ‘ish’ and ‘zha’. In addition to becoming quite a chatter box he continues to amaze/scare me with his physical accomplishments. He pulls up on almost anything with ease now and can even sit down again once he’s standing up. Sometimes he forgets that he can’t stand unassisted or walk yet and he lets go of the furniture only to tumble to the floor. Does this phase him? Not at all! He just rolls over and starts again!
