Cameron Wesley was born this morning at 12:41 a.m. He weighs 8 lbs, 2 oz and is 19.5 inches long. We’re all doing well despite being pretty tired. It’s been quite some time since we were up until 4:00 in the morning! We’ll post pictures and more information about his birth soon!

I’m a big fan of having Lily help out around the house for a couple of reasons. First, I tend to be on the lazy side sometimes and it’s nice that she is so willing to get things for me’the remote control, a tissue, helping me put the dishes away, etc. Second, I know it won’t be long before she starts rolling her eyes whenever we ask her to help out so we should make use of her eagerness while we can! Lily’s first ‘chore’ is putting Bear in her crate in the mornings. She is VERY much into this chore. As soon as Jason gets the crate out of the closet Lily runs to the kitchen screaming “Bear, get in the crate” at the top of her lungs! The interesting thing is that we think Bear is going deaf but that’s a different story. Once Bear is in the crate Lily proceeds to zip up the door and then proudly tells us that she “Zipped Bear up all by myself”. Too cute!
While I’m anxious and ready for Baby Boy to come I am by no means getting impatient. I know that he’ll come when he’s ready. However, I wish he would just go ahead and get ready so my body would quit playing games with my mind! I’ve been having several contractions over the past week. They started with some regularity last Sunday and we were considering making a call to the doctor but decided instead to just go to bed. I figured if I could sleep through contractions there was no reason to call the doctor. Turns out that was the right move. Throughout the week last week I had a number of contractions but nothing with any sort of consistency. Yesterday afternoon we thought things were really starting to happen when I had contractions about five minutes apart for about an hour and a half. I even called the doctor who advised that we could wait for another hour to make sure the contractions continued’they did not. Within the next 45 minutes things just kind of fizzled out. Darn! So now we wait again. Tomorrow is the date that Jason guessed Baby Boy would arrive. There are storms in the forecast for tomorrow and there is a full moon on Wednesday. Maybe one of these acts of nature will help give Baby Boy the incentive he needs to come out!
We had the 38 week appointment this afternoon and found out that I’m now dilated to 3 cm! Woohoo! Things are happening! We’re going to try to get out for a walk tonight to see if that helps to move things along even more. Too bad it’s hot again… Baby Boy’s heartbeat sounded good and I didn’t gain any weight in the past week! Doc guessed that Baby Boy will probably come in the next week but that’s just a guess. We have an appointment scheduled for the end of next week just in case.
Maybe these will be the last belly pics of this pregnancy? Who knows! At this point I’ve given up guessing when he will come! Lily was born at exactly 38 weeks so unless he comes today this pregnancy will be longer than Lily’s. I feel like such a brat to whine or expect him to be here since we’re still two weeks away from the due date! Poor kid is already being held to the standards set by his big sister!
