Our little baby seems to be getting more and more active! I’ve been feeling stronger movements more frequently over the past several days. It’s very exciting! We have our ultrasound one week from today.

When I was pregnant with Lily I don’t recall having any really intense cravings. The types of foods I wanted didn’t seem to different from what I would usually eat. There was awhile when I craved raspberries…not actual raspberries but raspberry flavored candy or specifically, a raspberry Mr. Misty from Dairy Queen. YUM! With this pregnancy I can’t eat enough meat! It’s really very strange for me since I can usually be perfectly happy to not eat meat for several days in a row…no more. A couple of weeks ago I actually wanted ribs for dinner! Then hamburgers, chicken, whatever. I even bought a lasagna with meat sauce when I would have usually opted for the 5 cheese variety. I’ve also been eating a lot of eggs. I guess my body is wanting more protein, maybe? I think this meat ‘craving’ along with the no morning sickness indicates that this baby will be a boy! Although, I was positive that Lily was a boy until the ultrasound proved otherwise. We’ll find out in just 11 days!
So far, this pregnancy has been completely different from Lily’s. With Lily, I was sick from about week 7 until week 13. It was miserable to be nauseous all day and getting sick every night. With this pregnancy I only experienced some occasional, mild nausea for a few weeks in the first trimester. Certainly can’t complain about that! Overall, things have been uneventful with the pregnancy…which is a VERY good thing! We had our second doctor appointment yesterday and heard the heartbeat again. I always get so nervous before each appointment in these early months. It was a relief when we heard the heartbeat (or, boom-boom as Lily would call it) as soon as the Doppler touched my belly! We’ll go back in about 4 weeks for another monthly check and for the ‘big’ ultrasound. Hopefully, the little bean will cooperate and we’ll be able to find out if we’re having a boy or girl!
Yes, we realize we have not been keeping up on this blog at all! However, we have been updating the Photos page on a somewhat regular basis. Let’s just call that our photo blog! Anyhow, welcome to the Babyblog – Version 2.0. If you’ll notice the ticker at the top of the page you’ll see that we’re expecting a new baby on October 2nd! We’re very excited and can’t wait for Lily to become a big sister! We’ll do our best to keep this blog updated with news about the pregnancy and our family. Enjoy!
